
Best Paper Award at IEEE WIECON-ECE 2020- Dr. Oktoviano Gandhi
The paper entitled “Dynamic Economic Dispatch Scenario Planning for Power Grids with PVs and Storage” won the Best Paper awars at the 6th IEEE Women in engineering Conference on Women in Engineering Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering 2020 (WIECON-ECE 2020 organized by IEEE Bhubaneswar Subsection and IEEE Bangladesh Section on 26th & 27th Dec 2020.In the module, Professor Dipti Srinivasan from NUS Electrical and Computer Engineering supervised Surya in conducting research on the market impacts of energy storage. Subsequently, NUS researchers Dr. Oktoviano and Dr. Dhivya assisted him in expanding and publishing his work.

SERIS PhD student Ms Puqun WANG, supervised by Dr Rolf Stangl of SERIS, wins a Best Paper Award at the 10th International Conference on Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaics s (SiliconPV 2020). The paper “Development of Contact Passivated Tunnel-junction All-back-contact Solar Cells by Damage-free Laser Patterning” was co-authored by Wang, P., Ho, J.W., Ng, X.R., Sridharan, R., Stangl, R.

SERIS PhD student Ms Gurleen KAUR, jointly supervised by SERIS Adjunct researcher A/Prof Aaron Danner of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS and Dr Rolf Stangl of SERIS, wins a Best Paper Award at the 10th International Conference on Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaics (SiliconPV 2020). The paper “Can Charge Enhance Selectivity? Passivated Contacts Using a Highly Charged AlOx Dielectric Tunnel Layer Comparing SiOx/p+poly-Si and SiOx/PEDOT:PSS to AlOx/p+poly-Si and AlOx/PEDOT:PSS” was co-authored by G. Kaur, A. Danner, R. Sridharan, R. Stangl and Z. Xin.
Springer Thesis Award – Dr. Oktoviano Gandhi
The PhD thesis of Dr. Oktoviano Gandhi, titled “Reactive Power Support Using Photovoltaic Systems: Techno-Economic Analysis and Implementation Algorithms” has been given the Springer Thesis Award for its scientific excellence and the high impact of its contents. He did his research under the supervision of Professor Dipti Srinivasan of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department and Dr. Thomas Reindl of Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS).
Poster award for SERIS’ PV Module R&D work on Quantitative ElectroLuminescence Analysis (QELA)
The poster entitled “Quantitative electroluminescence imaging of PV modules: qualitative enhancement through multi-frame super resolution” won a poster Award at the NREL PV Reliability Workshop 2020 held at Lakewood, Colorado, USA, 25-27 Feb 2020. The poster was co-authored by SERIS researchers Dr Karl G. Bedrich, Dr Yan Wang, Dr Yong Sheng Khoo and Mr Jing Chai from Quantified Energy Labs Pte. Ltd ("QE-Labs"). The QELA technology is currently being commercialized through the SERIS spin-off company QE-Labs

SERIS’ strategic & long-term technology-partner Meyer Burger wins PV magazine award at Abu Dhabi for yet another revolutionary tool “CAiA” designed uniquely to cater cost-effective implementation of TOPCon in large-scale PERC/T production lines. Thanks to CAiA, the PECVD monoPolyTM technology delivers 23.5% (with BBs on both sides) efficiency today and has potential to reach well beyond 24% in the near future
